I am thankful for you ~ a holiday giveaway

Somewhere between the pecan pie baking and, a nice day off yesterday,  I realized I completely missed an official post wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!

But it's never too late to talk about being thankful.

Today it also occurred to me that I tend to yammer on often about how thankful I am to those of you who visit me here, those of you who are my loyal customers, my students, my friends.  In fact so much appreciation for you + the giving spirit of the holiday season {my favorite time of year for this reason, that and the Christmas music of course, and the egg nog, and the decorations... ;)}~ This year I want to do more than tell you, I want to do something special for you. I want to share a gift with you: a very special Creative Thursday care package.

Since I don't do giveaways very often, we'll just call this the mother load of giveaways. I'm including a little of everything in this care package going to one of you: a 2011 calendar, a pack of 10 holiday cards, a set of 9 postcards, a set of 7 gift tags, AND a never before released fabric swatch of panda and penguin! AND I cannot forget to include that tiny little jackalope baby ornament up there. He is ready to go to his cozy new home.

The biggest compliment

 

If this isn't the best testimonial of my work, then I don't know what is.

My lovely customer Sara bought prints from me last year, and she just sent over photos of her 9 month old son. Apparently Benjamin is a big fan, so much so that according to Sara this print in particular "has made diaper changes quite difficult, as he is always trying to flip over to look it".

These photos made my day today, brought tears to my eyes and reminded me why I do what I do.

Meta's Room

On the heels of Friday's post, I just want to say that to be able to add joy to someone's home, especially the rooms of the little ones ~ this is one of the reasons I do what I do.

One of my early and now fiercely loyal Etsy customers is Mandy. Recently she sent me photos of her sweet little girl, Meta's room. Mandy was putting this collection together last year, just before Meta arrived. There's nothing better than actually seeing your art hanging in someone's home, or as I always like to call it, viewing art in it's "natural habitat". And connecting with Mandy is another reason I love what I do. Mandy is one of the nicest people I've "met" through the internet. Her emails just spill over with such a genuinely joyful spirit, it's infectious. She has been and continues to be such a wonderful customer. I can't thank her enough for all of her support.

A mom to Jett and Meta (in the photo above), Mandy is also a fellow entrepreneur. She owns an adorable online shop featuring clothing for small children, called Night Owl Baby and  a gourmet popcorn business with her twin sister in Indianapolis called Just Pop In.

Pandamonium

One of my wonderful customers, and fellow daily painter (you should definitely check out her paintings ~ beautiful!!!), Debbie Miller sent over a photo of where my pandas print now reside, in her son Teddy's room. It looks great in that black frame too. As I've mentioned before, I love seeing where my art lives. And isn't this room just the best, down to the panda on the skateboard? It reminds me of my bed when I was little. I collected stuffed animals, (hmm....maybe this is why so many animal paintings) and I had them arranged on my bed in a very particular order. It took me about 15 minutes to make my bed every morning. And at night, I would arrange them all around my head to "protect" me while I was sleeping.
