This is my new favorite sculpture to create. I made a little family of them last week and kept them to myself for this week, because I love them so. What can I say, tiny things always get me. I have decided to part with them today. Hopefully they will find good homes soon. *Edit* 8/1 there's only one little fellow left.  If not they are staying with me ;)

Also, I added some new magnets to the shop!

I've been having some fun sculpting with clay again. In fact I'm working towards a summer shop update in the next couple of weeks...so maybe? the princess bird can come home with you and be your new friend?

olive(s) in bunny ears

Oh, hello! It's late on a Monday and I just wanted to clear up any confusion about my weekend "tweet", that mentioned that I was "baking olives". Well, first you sculpt them, then you bake them. And they come wearing bunny ears this time of year.

I'm sorry it's been quieter than usual at the ol' blog. It seems that my new world/obsession with twitter has been captivating me. I'm hoping the newness of it will wear off soon, although I have to say I do like it. Not entirely sure why yet....?? So if you've missed me you can find me there, except today, today, it seems I am only here at the blog. I try to keep it interesting for those of you who choose to follow/visit me at a all of my now, many online venues, goodness.

So, I have been busy creating up a storm, seeing as how I've become increasingly aware of just how many show(s) projects I have coming up, and obviously, that requires a certain amount of time in the studio and away from the computer (which believe me has become increasingly hard to peel me away from, also not sure why???). 

A little shop update I promised for this coming Thursday is still on. And I've been preparing. The stuffed olives, edition of 10, and the sculpted olives with bunny ears, editon of 4, and some new ceramics, mostly cups & mugs, and even a small series of tiny original paintings. I promise to announce a time shortly. At this point it looks like it will be later in the day (afternoonish, my time).

tonight i came home to this

A little holiday vignette put together by Sean.

You see while the arctic hare's wait to go to their new home...if they go to their new home...because now I love them even more in my own home...I displayed them on this little shelf I have hung on our dining room wall. My green, antiqued, wood shelf usually is the home to a very unique original drawing/painting by Amy Ruppel that you can see illuminated in the back. And for Christmastime, I added two of my favorite decorations, a wooden Santa Clause accompanied by his evergreen tree. Then I added some gold twinkle stars, and then the arctic hares I created earlier this month. And when I came home Sean had added this tealight and positioned them all around it. Ok, I found this sweet little vignette to be SO crazy cute I had to share it.

I'm not usually one to gush about my man on my blog. But today, I cannot resist. Because as I'm sure you may know if you are part of couple, how easy it can be to overlook all you do for each other.

Then there are days like today when gushing over your man is a must. So I want to acknowledge and thank Sean for all the extra support he has given me over the last few weeks. He's gone above and beyond to help me, make me meals, take over my share of the houselhold "chores" (which I wish could go on forever) and even light candles for me when I come home ~ so that today when I returned from Outi's studio, painting more cups!!! (yes! more will be coming soon...) I not only walked into the warmest, coziest house but also one featuring this kind of above and beyond "cute ambience". I mean really who could ask for more? Sometimes I wonder if Sean gets "inundated" with all the cuteness that goes on around here ~ but then when I saw this vignette above~ I knew for sure that all the smiling Sean does in response to my creations is the real deal :)

Olives with a Bunny

 

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and holiday here in the states! This year, for the first time in a very long time, we decided not to travel for the holidays and I have to say that while we missed seeing family, we had the best Thanksgiving with friends and the long weekend felt longer, and SO much more relaxed. We even got our tree up and decorated. You can imagine if I love Christmas lights so much, how much I ADORE the Christmas tree. I want to enjoy it for as many days as I can each year (and now I am not leaving it's side) As I type this I am sitting next to it, lit even though it is daytime :), with Christmas music on in the background. Did I mention how much I LOVE this time of year?

I'm getting ready for the BIG update this Thursday, December 4 and will let you know an official update time tomorrow, Wednesday, as I see what kind of progress I make today.

I did want to tell you that a couple of Olives and a Bunny will be in the update as well!

Also this weekend, December 6 & 7~ I am going to be live and in person with my work here in L.A. at a special show called Local World's Fair, sponsored by Good Magazine. I will be one of several local Etsy sellers invited to participate. Should be a lot of FUN! If you are in the area I hope you can make it out.

So today, some Halloween cuteness for sure ~ these polar bears are turning up every where lately. You can take one home with you if you'd like. They are right here at the shop.
