sewing dresses

I might be a little obsessed. For someone who felt intimidated at the thought of and really didn't think she would be interested in and/or have time to sew her own clothes; You must know how satisfying it is to sew something you can wear and then to top it off, in a fabric you designed. Nothing better. I'm sort of loving that my closet is getting filled with clothes I've made.

I'm starting to feel Valentine's dayeee-ish over here? Meaning you're likely to be seeing a lot of pink and red on the blog in the coming days. I'm a traditionalist what can I say? I love those colors this time of year. How about you? 

This is my outfit for the bloganista Flickr pool week 2. I call it "lunch with the Christine's" because it's what I wore to have a biz ladies lunch with Swirly and Christine last Monday, where we ate at Lemonade {highly, highly recommend to my L.A. friends} and had cupcakes {in my opinion, some of the best ever = red velvet also at Lemonade}

I wanted to share it with you because in it I am wearing my favorite pink sweater made by a company called Ecote´. I believe you can only find their clothing line at Urban Outfitters, but I want to tell you about them, because I simply love their clothes. The chartreuse yellow top I have on in the outfit is also by Ecote´ . The grey skirt - also from Urban's and the black boots, which you should know have a very fancy, shiny gold lining inside are from Banana Republic 2008.

Thanks for all the app/article sharing and for tolerating my newest obsession. I thought I'd close out the week with a post all about me while demonstrating the affects of my favorite filters/cameras on the same photo in the Camera Bag.  Lovely, don't you think?

Also, I think this is such a fun idea started by Erin of Design for Mankind Fame. You should totally come and play along. It's a Flickr group called Bloganistas, intended to demonstrate that even though we, who blog, all work from home, we might actually have style and do still wear things other than sweat pants. Although in this week's photo, I'll say it's all about comfort in my "trip to the farmer's market ensemble", as I traded my "sweat pants" in for the BEST EVER winter leggings from American Apparel. Highly, highly recommend them. I will warn you now, once you put them on you might just never take them off ~ again.
