We made it!
I am writing to you from a little antique table in our Paris apartment, while listening to the Amelie soundtrack on repeat. Such a a beautiful soundtrack, I'm surprised I never bought it before. Then again, it is kind of perfect to be listening to it here.
In just five days of being on this trip, the first three spent in England, I've collected quite a few photos and now I'm thinking about the best way to share them with you? What I'm thinking is that I will add two more separate posts today, one focusing on England and one focusing on our first two days in Paris.
So here goes...my blog readers. Welcome to a piece of Europe through my eyes, and the Iphone's eyes ;)
As Sean said in his newest analogy {if you know Sean or took our first e-course, then you know how Sean is all about the analogies. Let's just say he has a gift for the analogy.} "We are still on the outside of the egg. We haven't even cracked the shell" And he's right. We haven't even scratched the surface, and already we have taken in so much that it feels like we've been gone for a month.
Above is our first self-portrait taken in Haslemere England at the Black Swan Inn Pub, which also became known as our "internet cafe", I mean "internet pub". Getting wireless internet has been a bit more of a challenge than I anticipated. In fact we are still sorting it out here in Paris. O.k. well let's also acknowledge that, two days in, we are just now beginning to sort out our new life in Paris. You forget, when you haven't left the country in a while, what it takes to adjust to an entirely new world, from the time change, to the language, to the culture, to the climate, to the food, to the wine ~ oh wait, we seem to have adjusted to French wine and food just fine. In fact I'm eating my first French yogurt while writing to you. Ah, European dairy products, I've missed you.
Ok, then just the beginning of our month abroad...
